How does R/S fit into your fannish life these days, folks? Into your larger fannish career? Did they help you get into fandom, or were you already involved in another pairing or fandom before you found them? Do you read/write/draw them currently, or are they an older pairing for you? Are there certain themes or emotions you associate with them?

R/S was my first slash pairing ever - actually, my first fandom pairing. I loved them, I worshipped them, I only read and wrote them - until HBP. I had survived OotP and Sirius's death; at first I threw the book away, but then I discovered the Beyond the Veil series and the power of AU, and I swam happily in Egypt.

But then came HBP and the horror that was R/T. That I couldn't get over. Anything I wrote or read at that time had to do with a very wimpy Remus who wanted to please so much that he accepted Tonks - my view of him hasn't changed much, unfortunately, but DH and the Forest Scene made me love the pairing again. I love afterlife stories :D

Pre-OotP was actually a great time - everything about Sirius was a huge question mark. He could be a Muggle, a half-blood, whatever the author fancied. OotP killed a lot of good fics together with Sirius.

Maybe we should have an afterlife fest? :D
