Another year of Remus/Sirius goodness comes to a close! We had another wonderful batch of gifts this year: 63 gifts (51 fic and 12 art and art-and-fic) plus 19 drabbles written in the days leading up to the exchange.

Thank you to our participants: artists, writers, watchers, cheerleaders, betas, and pinch-hitters. We saw fireworks, Scooby Doo, mistletoe, potions accidents, St Paul's Cathedral, and not one but two AUs in which Remus and Sirius raise Draco. [livejournal.com profile] brighty commented like no one has ever commented before. Old timers returned. New folks were welcomed to the community (and impressed us with their gifts!). It's been fun to celebrate the end of the year with you! Our 2011 master list is below the cut (and please let us know if there are any mistakes or oversights).

A special thank you goes out to my fellow mods [livejournal.com profile] sambethe and [livejournal.com profile] mindabbles, who stepped in while I was on vacation in December. Min and Sambethe have always been the real brains and organization behind this fest--you should see their spreadsheets!--but this year especially they deserve a round of applause. Want to leave a prompt for a fic from me, you two? We can keep the celebrations coming into the new year.

Happy 2012, all!
Maggie, Mindabbles, and Sambethe

Happy new year, small gifters! Welcome to 2012, and welcome to our final week of posting. We'll see some bonus gifts this week, as well as a final master list for the year, from December drabbles January's bonus extras.

During this final week, please take a moment to leave a comment for an artist or author whose work made your life a little brighter? Fandom competes with many other pleasures and responsibilities at this time of year, but comments and communication are what makes fandom so special. Don't forget to complete the cycle and share your joy with your fellow fans.

Title: I got a balloon for ya!
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] trisstiss
Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] brighty18
Rating: K
Contents or warnings (highlight to view): *none*
Word count: 5:)
Summary: Remus and Padfoot go to the circus...
Notes: It wasn't suppose to look like this! :)  My prompt was Scooby Doo crossover. And I really wanted to use only Scooby Doo, but when [info]brighty18 mentioned Stephen King's "It" in her fic I got this idea. And I couldn't resist doing it that way. I know the style is very simple but I wanted to do it as Hanna-Barbera as I could:) Hope you all like it (especially you, [livejournal.com profile] brighty18)!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Title: the heart of light, the silence
Author/Artist: [livejournal.com profile] chiralove
Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] dustmouth
Rating: PG
Contents or warnings (highlight to view): *slightly AU ending*
Word count: 1400
Summary: He has felt this about Sirius since their first meeting, since he saw Sirius haloed by the light behind him as he stood in the door of Remus’s train compartment, since he first spoke with Sirius – there’s something under the surface, something likely to explode.
Notes: The title and all of the quotes are from The Wasteland.
I am so sorry that this is so late (and huge apologies to the mods for my being such a failboat!), but I hope that you enjoy it anyway, [livejournal.com profile] dustmoth! Happy holidays!

[identity profile] brighty18.livejournal.com
Title: Wassail, Wassail
Author: [livejournal.com profile] brighty18
Recipient: The entirely wonderful [livejournal.com profile] myprettycabinet
Rating: PG
Highlight for Warnings: *extraordinarily long Christmas carols, silly plot, shiny tights, some swearing, and insertion of a very real and awesome real person (who would hardly have been age appropriate) into the R/S world of the First War*
Word Count: about 1,800
Summary: The prospect of a musical mission has little appeal for Remus, but, as a good boyfriend and Order member, he must do his duty. Unfortunately, that duty sometimes includes wearing tights and singing Christmas carols.
Author's notes: This song is based on a real carol, the Gloucestershire Wassail. There are many versions of this and the words vary, but HERE is a sample of what it sounds like. Please note, I took the liberty of inserting house elf names rather that the names of animals.
Happy Holidays to one of my favorite people, [livejournal.com profile] myprettycabinet. You wanted hand-holding, whispering, and secret flirting, but I fear I took it way off in a different direction. I hope you don’t mind that you actually appear in this piece. Dorky as that may be, I thought you’d have fun in this situation, and I know that such a mission would be right up your proverbial ally.
Finally, a big thank you to [livejournal.com profile] cackling_madly, for the awesome beta. I could never write anything without you.

Rating: PG
Contents or warnings: None
Word count: ~3,700
Summary: It's Boxing Day, 1977, the morning after the full moon, and Lily accidentally finds out about Remus' 'furry little problem'.
Notes: Many thanks to the awesome [livejournal.com profile] whymzycal for the beta. Title is from New Order's "True Faith." I actually set out to write some quick and dirty porn and ended up with this instead. My brain, you see. [livejournal.com profile] brighty18, this is for you, not just as thanks for pinch hitting, but also as thanks for your tireless efforts and dedication to R/S fandom itself. They do not go unnoticed by any of us. ♥ ♥ Wishing you a lovely holiday season, and a happy and healthy New Year!

Word count: 870
Summary: Records go missing, Sirius plans and Lily wins.

Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] secretlypadfoot
Rating: PG-13
Contents or warnings (highlight to view): *very chatty Teddy Lupin, author pretending to be a graphics designer*
Word count: ~ 2000
Summary: A find in the attic leads Teddy Lupin on a journey of discovery. Is this his chance to get to know the father he never had a chance to meet?
Notes: [livejournal.com profile] secretlypadfoot, I hope you like this. I tried to make this fit your prompt as well as possible, but Teddy just would not shut up! I hope you like Teddy as well as Remus and Sirius. In any case, thank you for the great prompt! I really enjoyed writing this.
Thank you also to [livejournal.com profile] brighty18 and [livejournal.com profile] thrihyrne for the thoughtful comments. This story would be so much less without you! ♥

Still feeling creative after finishing your gift? Have some time over the holidays? Want to say thanks or happy new year to someone? Remember a prompt from sign-ups that you wish you'd gotten to play with? Want to play around with a drabblefest prompt from this year's countdown?

*drumroll* Announcing the 2011 bonus round! During the last few days of the fest, after all small gifts have been posted, [livejournal.com profile] rs_small_gifts welcomes bonus gifts from anyone who'd like to create them (you don't have to be a participant to play along)! Bonus gifts can be even smaller than our usual stocking stuffers--minimum word count: 100, drawbles and sketches welcome. Here's your chance to draw or write about R/S one more time in 2011.

What should you do?

1. Leave new prompts in comments to this post! Do you have an idea for a prompt you forgot to mention during sign-ups? Were you inspired by one the gifts? Have you been watching the comm but didn't get a chance to participate during the fest? Leave a few ideas here! There's no guarantee that anyone will claim them, but you might spark someone's interest!

2. Skim through the prompts at the original sign-up post, the countdown drabblefest or here, in comments to this post. Claim once you know until you know you'll have time to draw or write, at any point up until the deadline!

3. Claim, create, submit, and make someone happy! You can submit/put your gift in the queue by posting it to the community. Please use the header: "Bonus Art: Title" or "Bonus Fic: Title"! Remember, the bonus round is NOT an exchange--there's no matching up gift givers and recipients, and there's no guarantee that someone will create a gift for you. Like it says on the tin, it's extra!

Bonus gift makers, you've got ten days: DUE DATE: midnight your time, Tuesday, December 27th. Have fun!

4. Enjoy the extras! Bonus gifts will go up as soon as the regular exchange is over.

Please note:

* Your mods are not going to track down folks who signed up for the bonus round or assign pinch hitters--this is purely an extra ribbon on the gift, so to speak. But please remember that your recipients will probably be excited to hear you're creating something based on their prompts. Please only claim once you know you'll have time to deliver!

* Users can only have one gift in the queue at a time, so if your first gift hasn't been posted yet, LJ won't let you add anything else. Just wait until it's gone up and then you can submit!

Happy holidays to all!

Your small gifts mods,

Title: A Lie Gets Halfway Around the School Before the Truth Has a Chance to Get Its Pants On
Author: [livejournal.com profile] midnitemaraud_r
Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] fullmoon_dreams
Rating: R
Contents or warnings (highlight to view): *A bit of non-penetrative smut and the usual MWPP hijinx*
Word count: ~20,200
Summary: Remus' seventh year had commenced in the ordinary fashion, if anything about his life at Hogwarts could be accurately described as 'ordinary'. But when a potions incident leaves him up the proverbial creek, things quickly take a turn for the worse—or perhaps for the better, if Sirius has any say in the matter.
Notes: Many thanks, first to the mods, for their patience, and second to my beta, [livejournal.com profile] whymzycal, and my proofreaders, [livejournal.com profile] red_squared, [livejournal.com profile] gryffindorj and [livejournal.com profile] best_of_five who made this story that much better. Love you guys! Title inspired by the esteemed Winston Churchill. Louisa, I'm sorry you had to wait so long, but I hope you enjoy it! It was a lot of fun to write, so thanks for such an awesome and inspiring prompt! Happy Holidays! ♥
