Remus/Sirius Small Gifts

"You're late."

"No, Moony. I'm not."

"You will be," Remus says.

"Don't be such a negative Nancy. I've loads of time."

"What? Who says that? No one says that." Remus picks up his quill. He wants to kick himself. Sirius waits until the last minute and Remus bails him out, and he probably will again. And again. "No one who isn't my Aunt Eugenia, at any rate."

"Remus. Moony. Take a breath. I'm not late. I have two days."

"You have one."

"It depends how you count it, doesn't it."

"It—no, it doesn't depend. Time isn't subjective. You can't wiggle your way out of this. I'm not doing it for you."

Sirius rolls over onto his back, his head on Remus' lap. He rubs his head against Remus' stomach and smiles up with those irritatingly beautiful eyes. "You do something for me. I'll do something for you."

"I hate you," Remus says. Sirius' hand slides up Remus' torso and Remus toys with the idea of pushing him off the couch and Flooing 'round to Peter's for a drink.

"Aw, Moony," Sirius says. "I'm joking." He sits up and pushes Remus back onto the couch. "I finished yesterday."

"Oh," Remus says. His evening is suddenly looking up.
