Also tried to incorporate: Borderline slash/gen, Hardships and hope. Poverty. Simple blessings. Beauty in unexpected places. I am well over 18, which is the legal age in my country, too, but I actually prefer G and PG.
Summary: James proposes to Lily on a winter afternoon. Sirius and Remus celebrate (note the rating, get your mind out of the gutter =P)
Other notes: I may extend this, when I have more time. And it'll probably get reallllllll angsty, cause that's what's been coming out of my brain lately. For now, it's pretty darn fluffy. Hope you like it, paulamcg! Oh, and the first set of lyrics is from A Charlie Brown Christmas. The others are classic Christmas carols.

Notes: This turned out to be the longest fic I've ever written, despite its supposing to be a small gift. Hopefully I did your prompt justice though, treizechs, as I had to exterminate so many plot holes that kept cropping up, and hopefully its believable enough because of that. The title is totally stolen from the Nick Cave song, which you should all listen to now (although it's perhaps funnier hearing it after the rest of the Murder Ballads C.D. than just on its own). Summary:  Sirius has always suspected that Remus fancied James. Remus is certain that Sirius is in a strop because of James’ impending marriage. Sirius needs to tell Remus something. 
Any other notes, warnings, etc.: Much credit is due to my fabulous beta, sec38, who reviewed this several times. I fear there may be some excess sweetness, but I hope it does not rise to the level of syrupy sweet mushiness. I hope you enjoy!
