A small gift for [livejournal.com profile] penknife

[livejournal.com profile] penknife asked for art for one of her stories. When I read the opening of her marvellous Breathe out Anger, the churchyard at Haworth sprang to mind.

I hope this suits.

*sigh* You do despair and anguish far too well, dear! I love the way, despite all the desolation, you've made Remus look so resolute. *sniffle*

Oh, oh, oh. So lovely and so sad! I love the muted colors and the quietness of this. Thank you so very, very much!

Oh, and also -- may I post or link to this on my website to accompany the story (with credit, of course)?

The official RS Small Gifts position is oh please PIMP PIMP PIMP!... I'm not sure Clara would put it that way, but we shall see.

Oh, wow! The trees are the things really grabbing my attention now. They're just wonderful.

The whole thing is wonderful.

Haunting and lovely. It really draws you in.

This is wonderfully evocative. In addition to the colours – or rather the cold lack of colour (which coincidentally paints the image I’ve been building up of my Remus’s first years after 1981), the character’s position and direction in the picture emphasizes that he has nothing left, nowhere to go.

Ooh, lovely. R/S + the churchyard at Haworth--two of my very favorite things!

The sketchy quality and eerie, subtle lighting in this are gorgeous.

Oh, this is is lovely and sad and beautiful. I love the wash of greys and browns and how they come together.

Lovely piece! The frantic brushstrokes and the way Remus is clutching his cloak really make for a chilly/chilling scene.

Lovely textures and colors. This somehow manages to be both immediate and stark, which is a fabulous combination. Maggie

This is gorgeous and really captures the spirit of Haworth. I sometimes think I'd like to live there, and then wonder if I could cope with the constant feeling of doom, but it really works for this piece and the determination in Remus' face.
