One of favorite topics to round out our discussions before posting begins:

What are some of your favorite R/S cliches or tropes or generic storylines? (Chocolate-loving Remus or Remus and Sirius sharing a flat, for example.) Which cliches do you remember seeing around when you first discovered the pairing, and which seem to be more popular now?

sharing a flat is definitely my favourite trope :D

punk!leather jacket wearing!bike-riding!cigarette-smoking!sirius is my second favourite. by a very close margin. XD

i'm generally not fond of chocolate-loving remus or any of the other common tropes out there (golden-eyed remus, cripplingly shy remus, gryffinwhore!sirius...).

I think that almost any trope can be written well, but I am very fond of both of them being portrayed as intelligent, witty, and intellectual.

I also like Sirius as a true Muggle-lover who is interested in stuff like Muggle pop culture, etc. This includes smoking all all sort of other Muggle affectations.

I am extremely fond of snarky!Remus, hot bad boy!Sirius, and any form of James and Sirius being ridiculous assholes and making a lot of puns about Sirius' name.

Also, I really like the thought of Remus smoking. I'm generally not a fan, but it makes sense that he would, in my opinion.

I'm not really sure if it ever became popular, but I love myself a posh!Sirius. Like, there he'd be with his motorbike and leather jacket and all things punk and THEN he'd open his mouth and he'd have the poshiest accent to have ever poshed.

Also I remember reading a fic that mentioned Remus having some sort of oral fixation or something, and because of that he smokes? I like Remus smoking, too.

Quiet trouble-maker!Remus in their school years is great, and also muggle-loving!Sirius. I do love to see them sharing a flat after school.

Gryffinwhore!Sirius is my least favorite trope, and I don't object to chocolate-loving!Remus (my personal headcanon is that he likes chili-spiced hot cocoa), but it can be overdone.

Hmm, I think my favorite is sneaky!Remus. I love when he's fully as complicit in the pranks as the rest of them. Even when he gets older he's not above being a bit sneaky, I mean, do we really think he didn't suggest dressing boggart!Snape up the way he did on purpose?

I also love a clever, secretly mature but hiding it well, Sirius.
