Welcome to the 2013 R/S Small Gifts sign-ups! Welcome to everyone--whether you're back for your EIGHTH round or joining us for the first time. Anyone who loves Remus and Sirius and what adventures they might find together is welcome here.

We're here for all your low-stress, holiday fest, R/S needs. Follow these three easy steps to celebrate the end of the year with Remus, Sirius, and your friends:

1. SIGN UP BY LEAVING PROMPTS IN A COMMENT TO THIS POST
Schedule: sign-ups are open from Saturday, October 12, to Saturday, October 19
At any time during this one-week period--note: ONE WEEK ONLY this year!--you can join the exchange by responding to this post with a comment containing the following information:

Name: Your lj user name plus a nickname or the name you'd like us to use for you

Age statement: One of the following: (1) "I am over 18 or over the legal age in my country" OR (2) "I am under 18 or the legal age in my country, and I will neither ask for nor read anything with a rating over R." Throw in a wild card challenge: Offer an optional challenge for your gift-giver--a theme or a character or an approach you don't see in Remus/Sirius fanworks very often. Remus telling Sirius he needs to relax and have fun. An alternate universe set in another time or another culture. A fic written as a fairy tale. Your gift-giver may not opt to take up the challenge--which is fine! It's optional!--but let's spark some new ideas and have some fun with this request.

Claiming begins at 11:00 a.m. Eastern US time on Saturday, October 19. (Check out times in other parts of the world here.) Claiming closes after 48 hours. If you can't claim within 48 hours, please get in touch with your mods and arrange for a friend (or us) to claim for you.

Please claim by responding to the comment that contains the request that you want. (You can leave a line like "I claim marysue's request #2"). One claimant per participant, please. Everyone creates one gift, everyone receives one gift, and we would like everyone to get something! Claiming operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so drop by as soon as you can to claim the prompts you liked.

If you finish and submit your first small gift, you are more than welcome to come back and claim again--we usually have a celebratory bonus round at the very end of the fest with second gifts.

2. Remus is nesting. (As literally or as figuratively as you like, whether it’s a spell gone awry, a side effect of being a werewolf, or they’re simply getting a new flat; you can do anything but turn Remus into an actual bird/nesting creature.) Sirius tries not to be smitten with it.

3. That one time James dared Sirius to spend the night of Boxing Day in the Forbidden Forest, and Remus was too fretful to let him go alone.

Do not want to receive: Girly boys, manwhore!Sirius, evil!flobberworm!stupid!Peter (pre-betrayal), nothing higher than a PG-13 rating (unless it’s for wizard swears), Remus/Tonks, smoking, smut (I'm fine if they have sex, I just don't want all the gory details!), horribly disgusting fluff (at least balance it out with something else). Am fond of: Funny things that will make me laugh out loud, witty banter, silliness... and that feeling of things being very warm and Christmasy (though a general winter setting is good). Flangst. 1)Remus is a terrible flirt, and also quite the playboy. When the gang goes out drinking Moony comes home with at least 5 numbers. Sirius enjoys watching Moony flirt and work his magic because he knos that in the end all of those numbers will go in the trash and Remus is coming home with him.

2)Sirius shy when it comes to sex, pure-bloods were taught that sex was something you did only to continue the line and it was never spoken of after. Sirius likes sex, and he has all these fantasies that he just can't bring himself to talk about. Moony wants to be more adventurous in bed but he's afraid Sirius wont take it well becasue when ever sex is mentioned he turns red and tried to change the topic.

3)Ron realizes that Sirius and Remus are a match made at Hogwarts. And everyone knows that you meet your forever at school. Harry doesn't want to think about Remus and Sirius having sex ever and Hermione is quite convinced that Remus and Sirius are straight. Little do they know the two have been screwing off and on for years. (This can totally be fit in to a no azkaban AU)

3- A modern au where everyone's happy and no one's dead. Remus and Sirius offered to host Christmas and are in way over their heads. I'd like to see Sirius getting really into decorating (like buying holiday decorating magazines and spending serious time with a hot glue gun into it) and Remus stressing about cooking for a dozen people and getting everything right. Just cute domestic stuff.

Three wishes:
1) Trying to outdo each other with Christmas presents, either Remus or Sirius end up overdoing it.
2) Holiday baking at the magical post-Hogwarts flat turns into a food fight (smut definitely encouraged).
3) Buying a mysterious joint present for Harry -- the deleted scenes before they decided on their OotP gift (awkward what-to-buy-a-teenage-boy conversations encouraged).
Do not want to receive: Remus/Tonks romance.
Am fond of: Fluffy smut, post-Hogwarts/first war, Lie Low at Lupin's, ugly jumpers, AUs.
Wild card challenge: In any scenario, the appearance of a mega ugly Christmas jumper.

2. Sirius takes a job working with small children as a last resort and finds himself liking it, somehow this brings he and Remus close
3. Art or something similar relating to any of my fic

For whatever reason (can be angsty or not) Remus and Sirius decide to have a low key Christmas - ie, no decorating, no cooking, and no exchanging presents.

Warming each other up on a cold night.

Anything that uses "Winter Wonderland" (http://www.carols.org.uk/winter_wonderland.htm) as inspiration, but preferably not in a songfic way.

Do not want to receive: Anything post OotP (unless it's AU and Sirius is still alive), mpreg, nothing where they have to look after Harry as a baby, first person POV.

Am fond of: Fluff, smut, poignancy.

Wild card challenge: If you opt to write something fluffy try to work in a moment of genuine angst. Same is true of the reverse - if you write something angsty see if you can a touch of fluff for counterbalance.
