Interesting, because I feel very much the same way. Sirius is so caring about those he loves, I'm sure he won't rest until he finds the most perfect gift for Remus each and every christmas/birthday/anniversary. He's a pretty good gift-giver in canon, too.

In that question I chose Remus. I don't doubt Sirius is a great gift-giver but...
As we know, Remus is really poor and sometimes even if he wants to buy someone a gift he simply cannot afford it. Which means he must save money for it (sometimes for long time). His gifts are carefully chosen or even made by himself. And I think that kind of gift is much more valuable for the recipient. I see it that way :)
