Oh... wow... THANK YOU! What a truly amazing comment. Damn!

It was very much inspired by The Secret Garden, a book I loved as a kid. Another part of that came from a book called The World Without Us by Alan Weisman. It's about a vision of what would happen to the world after the potential collapse of humanity, but he describes this amazing ghost town in Cyprus called Varosha. It was once a rather high-class beach resort town, but was abandoned in 1974 to the Turks and it's been empty ever since. Trees and vines are growing through these once-posh hotels and the streets are taken over by plant life. It was really amazing and made me think about what would happen in a magical world.

And I'm glad you liked the humor. My dog is a notorious sleep-farter. He can easily clear a room without even knowing it.

Relationships with parents are always complicated by the fact that, no matter what happens, we still know that, on some level, they love is or, perhaps more importantly, are LIKE us. It's scary. To me, nobody is completely bad, just mishapen by anger and hurt and suffering. Sirius himself was lucky, for he had James and Remus and Lily and even Peter. (And, in my world, he had Alphard and Oscar.) But maybe Walburga had no one. I once tried to write a whole story about her for just that reason.

Anyway, I am rambling, but thank you for your beautiful words.
