part of why people don't often write R/S about the lost years is because we know so much more than Remus does & we don't really want him to get over Sirius Yes, that's well-put, and I agree that this is one of the biggest challenges of reading/writing "lost years" fic. But yours did strike the right balance for me, quite magically.
