Or you've suddenly got a few days off and finally have some extra time to write or draw? Or you were inspired by one the gifts you read? Announcing...the 2009 bonus round! Open to all comers!
There's still a chance to create and post gifts before the year--and the decade!--are over. This year we're running a bonus round for additional drabbles and ficlets (100-1,000 words) or drawbles or icons. How do you play?
1) Nab an unclaimed prompt over at this year's sign-up post or check out the comments to this post, where new prompts will be left this week
2) Write or draw your bonus gift and submit it by midnight EST, Sunday, December 27. Header and instructions
Ready to play? Here's what to do:
1) Please post with our usual header but with either "Bonus Fic: Title" or "Bonus Art: Title" in your subject line.
2) Folks whose first gifts hasn't been posted yet: LJ only allows a journal/user to have one fic in the queue at once. If you'd like to create a bonus gift, you can:
a) post using another journal or
b) let us know that you'd like to put something up, and we'll post your first gift as soon as possible, so you can post your bonus gift.
c) Feel free to e-mail us at smallgiftsmods at gmail dot com if things prove too complicated!
3) Continue to watch the comm--we'll post the bonus gifts concurrently with the last week of official small gifts, December 28-January 1. (ETA: regular posting is far from over! The exchange will run through the 31st.)
Note: Unlike small gifts proper, this last bonus round is not an exchange. Everyone can leave a prompt--even if you don't plan to create a bonus gift yourself. Everyone can contribute a bonus gift--even if you didn't participate in this year's exchange!
