We're back, folks! Halloween is just around the corner, and the end of the year is in sight. Time to celebrate the season with
rs_small_gifts!
Most of you watching this comm are familiar with the exchange, but for those who are new, here's how it works:
NOVEMBER 1 (this Saturday) to NOVEMBER 7 (one week from Friday): Participants leave prompts. At any time between November 1 and November 7, you can stop by the sign-up post and join the exchange by leaving a set of three prompts specifying what you would like for your gift. Like first-time kisses? Plots that involve books? Unwritten scenes from canon? Make up a wish list! Depending on who claims you, you'll receive short fic (1,000 to 3,000 words), art, or icons.
NOVEMBER 8 (Saturday): Prompts open to claims at 11:00a Eastern Time. Stop by the comm, select a recipient, and start planning your gift. You'll have three or four weeks to work on it.
NOVEMBER 30 (Sunday): Final submission deadline for first-time participants. Just place your gift in the queue by midnight ET!
DECEMBER 7 (Sunday): Final submission deadline for returning participants.
DECEMBER 8 (Monday) or thereabouts: Posting begins! Depending on how many participants we have, we'll post one or more gifts per day from now until the end of the year.
As you can see, this is a quick, low-key, low-stress exchange--a chance to hang out with friends and enjoy your favorite parts of fandom over the holidays. Curious about the way the exchange has run in the past? Check out last year's sign-up post, where folks left and claimed prompts, or last year's submission instructions. (But remember to leave questions or comments here, not there!)
Looking forward to another round of year-end R/S celebration!
