He still can’t believe they’re dead first made me wonder whether Sirius was thinking of himself and Remus and this was an afterlife fic. After all, this turned out to be such a realistic scenario that I have to wonder if it’s convincing at all that Sirius had to go to Azkaban in canon. I love the frame of the reflections – Sirius seeing Remus asleep with the baby, and finally lying down to sleep with them.
