Aw, Min, this is so moody and atmospheric! The town, childhood memories, the sense of being on holiday, the anticipation, it's all so vivid and yet elusive at the same time. It's one of my favorite things about your writing.
I like the whole idea of young-adult James and Sirius and Peter and Remus as map-makers, too. Of course Dumbledore knew.
