Notes: bearshorty, thank you so much for your wonderful, wonderful prompt. Possibly the best prompt I ever had. A short story does not do it justice, at all. There is a novel growing as I type this. I only have something of a teaser for you now,although the story does work at a stand-alone. There is more, much more where it came from, though I don't have any idea when said novel will be written and finished. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy this.
