By now you probably know that every single thing you write is my favorite thing you write, but this is, FOR REAL, one of my absolute all-time faves. I don't know how you manage to make an apocalyptic scenario so charming, but you do, and every bit of this is a breathless, tightly-wound cascade of tension and fear and love--which is maybe the most incredible thing in a sea of incredible things: that you've conveyed the breadth and depth of two people so deeply in love amid the horrors of malicious alien attacks. You're unreal.
It's just, you've made the surreal and horrific so beautiful, from the gorgeous tumble of your language and the incredible dialogue (they come together with such perfect drunken indelicacy, I love it) to the last chill the ending gave me. This fic tugged my heart in ten directions at once and there are honestly so many good things to say about this I can't fit them into an LJ comment; this is staggering, and so, so impossibly beautiful.
