Title: The Night Before the Night Before Christmas
Author: [livejournal.com profile] cherie_morte
Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] brighty18
Rating: PG-13
Highlight for Warnings: *Language and Boys Being Pervy Boys*
Word Count: 1,550
Summary: Sirius decides to celebrate Christmas a little early.
Author's notes: Beta’d by [livejournal.com profile] wutendeskind. My prompt was: “Parody of/re-telling of/references to any famous Christmas story/movie.” I structured this around “The Night Before Christmas” with some “It’s a Wonderful Life” thrown in just because it was super ~appropriate. Hans Christian Anderson’s The Brave Tin Soldier gets a nod because I read it in children’s literature this semester and it helped me somewhat address her second prompt: “Favorite childhood toys discovered or rediscovered.” I tried to hit as many of your likes as possible and I really hope you enjoy this story and have a GREAT holiday season. <3333

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. )

Rating: So very G
Warnings: None.
Artist's notes: I created two pairs of simple felt ornaments inspired by the boys, particularly in their Marauders/just-after-Hogswarts era. One celebrates their animagus forms, and the other celebrates the ship and their interests. NOTE: I made these with the intention of sending them to my recipient – if you're comfortable with/able to receive mail, I'd like to pop these in the post for you so they get there in time for holidays. Just leave a comment I can reply to or private message me and I'll get back to you and get the details! (And if she can't receive them/doesn't want them, they're open for claim.) I hope you have a good holiday season, [livejournal.com profile] ronloveshermy!

In an additional gift for the day, [livejournal.com profile] planetgal471 rocks all of our socks and made icons to share with the community.

Min, Maggie and I bow down before her, because while I can't speak for the other two, I know that merely opening up Photoshop makes me cringe.

So without further ado, take a peak and enjoy!

The title is from the poem “Anthem for Doomed Youth” by Wilfrid Owen, which ends:
What candles may be held to speed them all?
Not in the hands of boys, but in their eyes
Shall shine the holy glimmers of goodbyes.
The pallor of girls' brows shall be their pall;
Their flowers the tenderness of patient minds,
And each slow dusk a drawing-down of blinds.
