Ouch! This was like a punch to the gut. No, it was like one of those moments in which you are happily play-fighting with someone and then they actually hit you. It was also quite brilliant. The impact of the sudden change was shocking, but also quite genius, for we really felt as Remus did. And that's saying something because, unlike Remus at that moment, we actually do know what's coming eventually.
It was also a phenomenal character study of both men. I feel you mailed them both perfectly. But that was just Sirius, unashamed, vibrant and physical That may be one of the best descriptions of Sirius I've ever read. It really sums him up, does it not? And his dialog felt spot on as well. But Remus? Oh, Remus really shines here. The way he smiles and laughs at things without clouding it with negative emotions seemed so indicative of his character: patient, bemused, and accustomed to enduring things. And his subtle but keen intelligence, his way of piecing things together and coming to realizations (Sirius grins, all too pleased at this, and Remus realises with a small pang of guilt that it has been ages since he last used that name. It’s always ‘Sirius’ now, it’s always ‘Sirius’ when they fight and it’s always ‘Sirius’ in between the fights, because even in their most comfortable moments there is still this tension between them that they don’t speak of, but that turns ‘Padfoot’ to ‘Sirius’ and once in a fight even to ‘Black’. ") were perfect, as well. He really "got it" in a subtly dramatic way and that made it all the more poignant.

This was really wonderful.
