Oh, wow, I really love this! You've managed to capture catcher in the rye on a visceral level while keeping Sirius and Remus very much in character.

I love the whole conversation they have, but especially this bit:

“I won’t go, not today.”

“And tomorrow?” Remus rinses the soap from the glasses.

“I’ll stay through tomorrow, at least.”

“And the day after that?”

“I’ll stay for as long as you like. What do you say to that?”

Remus finishes drying the glasses. “I think that’s best.”

And this line right here sums up Sirius for me:

“What if we woke up every morning with a blank slate, and everything that happened in the night was just like a dream?”
