Clicked flangst but humor really is what I like.

Damn, I can't pick both GoF/Lie Low and OotP/Grimmauld Place. But yeah - I'm a sucker for that period. Mmm, the hurt/comfort ...

[identity profile] secretsolitaire.livejournal.com 2009-11-24 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
I probably chose too many genres to be really voting for a favorite, but hurt/comfort has got to be there. Basically I want angst or conflict, but I want it to get better. ;-) Throw in some porn and I'm a happy girl!

I agree with [livejournal.com profile] comicsbycate! Amen, sister!
The humor is so much more fun knowing the angst in their story. The angst is more terrible knowing the fun they must have shared. And porn is porn and always welcome! :)

HUMOR because after the way JKR fucked them over they deserve some happiness from the fans. :D That doesn't mean I don't enjoy other genres, just that I prefer humor (well done over crack but crack is ok if it's not done badly).

Humour is always good for these two, although harder to manage post-Hogwarts. We need the R/S equivalent of H/D Career Fair in which everyone writes cracktastic fic about Sirius as a hairdresser, or Remus as a pirate, or both of them as ghostbusters (which, actually, would be pretty awesome :-/)
ext_14568: Lisa just seems like a perfectly nice, educated, middle class woman...who writes homoerotic fanfiction about wizards (Python-being repressed)

Humor!! I should go back and check AU, too. I love the genre with regard to altering the canon so happy-making things happen, like they raise Harry, Sirius doesn't spend 12 years in Azkaban, they don't die, or at the very least they magically come back to life, etc. But I'm not fond of non-magic AUs, primarily because one of my favorite things about HP is the magic. :-P

And as I've been catching up on my flist, I see you had a birthday, so belated but heartfelt birthday wishes to you! *HUGS* ♥ ♥

I clearly like all genres as long as they contains r/s. How about moody psychological pr0n?

Humour is fantastic! I think they need it with all the crap the poor buggers go through thanks to that British woman. Luckily they have us to give them comfort, sex, laughs and a happy ending. :)

I love different eras depending on what I'm writing. Post POA is wonderful for hurt/comfort/angst, MWPP era is great for fluff and humour and first times. But I really like the period between them leaving Hogwarts and before everything goes to shit. I love exploring the possibilities of what might have happened to them, the changes in their dynamics, and of course, the legal porn. This pairing is perfect for so many reasons, one of which is that JKR didn't give them a lot of background - except for a few key moments - which means that we can make it up!

Anything goes, actually. It depends on the author, and (it's been said before but I'll say it again) the best writers are in this fandom. So yeah. XD

[identity profile] peskywhistpaw.livejournal.com 2009-11-24 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
Humor, for sure! I love that I can always count on finding a Remus/Sirius fic somewhere that will make me cry with laughter.

Have to put in a word for humour and crack as well!

[identity profile] mezzopianoforte.livejournal.com 2009-11-24 11:26 am (UTC)(link)
absolutely love marauder era fic/art :) I really love coming out!fic and getting together!fic. I love how it can be told so many times and there can still be a new way of doing it :D

Also, I used to be a bit =| about AU but then I read the brilliant epprep stories (I think that used to be hte title? Think it's bmbridges now) and a remuslives323 (eee did I get that username right) story which was awesome so now I'm partial to a bit of AU as well!

I'm still new to fandom and I can't get enough of h/c, tension/sexual tension, awkwardness, things left unsaid, mistakes, fights, misunderstandings, memory, and ghosts BECAUSE I AM A MASOCHIST.

I, ah, love humor, too.

[identity profile] liseuse.livejournal.com 2009-11-24 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I adore post-Hogwarts, beginning of the war, terror is looming on the horizon, but they are young and having fun in their lives at the same time. Which means I like hurt/comfort, psychological terror, conversations at cross purposes and the fact that post-school, pre-war, this can all be done with some humour and jollity in it anyway.

it's funny; i'm not huge on h/c, and that means i have no idea what i'm doing in this ship. XD it's kind of unavoidable in r/s though, so i will read it. i guess it's more that i'm not fond of h/c that shifts to the melodramatic in its telling. aaaand in my early days in fandom, too many of the h/c fics i came across were rapefic and different strokes for different folks, but that's not my cup of tea. at all. D:

but i do love me some humor/crack (that's my h/c :P), and ANGST. god, i love well-written angst that doesn't cross over into emo. i especially love first war angst, like just before 10.31.81 to be exact. of course, i also adore getting all :3 over a cute, fluffy story. and porn, of course. love me some porn. and i do like AUs, though non-magic AUs have to be really awesome for me to really get into them. so. it's looking like i'll kind of read anything r/s, isn't it? :D

as for era, it's a complete toss-up between hogwarts and post-hogwarts/pre-azkaban. i cannot ever get enough of those two, omg.

[identity profile] paulamcg.livejournal.com 2009-11-24 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
When choosing post-Hogwarts, pre-everything-goes-to-hell, I was partly thinking that everything goes to hell only at the end of OotP (or in post-OotP canon). My favourite period for writing short fic has actually first been the lost years, but there hasn’t been much to read about that era. (And my major era for writing huge fic is post-OotP – AU.)

I’m afraid one of my very favourite genres is hurt with just a little bit of comfort or hope. (Perhaps that’s why I stick to these characters and this pairing.) Another one is political themes and original additions to the magical word. A third one that surprised me: AU without magic – while I’ve never been very interested in undoing the hurt Remus and Sirius suffered in (pre-HBP) canon.

Yes, humour for me as well.

HBP and DH for this pairing are a bit thin on the ground. I think I have one, but it is a bit difficult. Muses on the thought of maybe writing more one day.

I prefer my boys adult, slightly grizzled, worn out by life yet still madly in love.

And AU! I love AU!
