Thank you! I think he was by no means insane, but I do think he was beautifully damaged. Honestly, after spending that much time by oneself, the social world (especially of the Weasleys) would feel very foreign and alienating. And, like many big families, they have their own culture and don't really understand outside-the-family thinking.
