first of all, i am so sorry it has taken me so long to comment on this - i have been on holiday and internetless since last wednesday, so i only realised it had been posted today. and then i wanted to wait until i could enjoy it properly before reading, so i am here now, glass of mulled wine in hand, no distractions. yay!
1970: oh, so painful. poor remus, always old beyond his years.
1971: sirius! you can tell it's a different voice straight away, he's such a little div.
Regulus is getting thumped for this, and no mistake. haha, sounds like christmas with me and my brother.
i love the way you've used the twilight here.
1973: oh, gorgeous. i really enjoy when remus is a little removed from the marauders like this, involved but still observing the dynamics of the group, all the lovely foreshadowing of what comes later in canon. and the ust, oh. so lovely that they don't understand what's happening.
1975: 'You're such a poof, Moony.' sirius, why must you always be such a clown? i have to read on quick!
1976: how i love sirius like this, swaggering and hiding everything .
He read once that a person can build up an immunity to poison by drinking a small dose every day-- possibly love works in the same way. wonderful. everything about that is so perfect for remus.
'I wouldn't mind.' i hold my breath.
Don't be daft,' Sirius breathes, and as their lips meet again Remus thinks vaguely of wasted moments and miserable twilight and perhaps Sirius does as well, but it all seems so far away now, a vestige of the lost and pointless past, and though the sky is darkening overhead they do not either of them notice. oh, what a lovely ending. really ties it all together and i'm so so glad sirius didn't make an arse of it at the last minute.
thank you so much for my present. i hope you have a fantastic christmas :)
