This is stunning! So intense and visceral and vivid all at once. And so original while still being so utterly recognizable. I loved the paragraph about the spices, and the way you showed throughout Remus's attempts to manage his overwhelming feelings about the past and present. I didn't expect Sirius to be the calm one, in terms of the ghost, and Remus to be so thrown; it's certainly an easier choice to write them the other way around, but it makes so much sense the way you've done it. Sirius seems to have come to terms with a great deal that Remus is still struggling with, and the way his equanimity eventually spills over and affects Remus as well is just beautiful. Lovely fic, and one I'll still be thinking about days later.
