I've finally read this and WOW - 'New Year's Eve Party where not all is at it seems' indeed!! I love this entire thing, but that twist at the end? I totally did not see that coming, and it made me both laugh and squee at the same time, because it's such a fun scene, and it's so heartwarming, it says so much about their relationship and everything that happened after that first time. I bet James got that story A LOT of times, hahaha! And Ministry officials and legislation, yay!
The dialogue is golden all the way through - first, it shows us so much about what's happening here, and second, it shows us a lot about their characters and who they are. That's so well done!!! Oh, and James, hahahaha, I love him, and he's wonderful here, very vivid even if he's not there much.
And of course I can't not mention the sex, because that was really steamy and both tender and rough at the same time *fans self*
