Oh. Oh, wow. This is absolutely amazing! Thank you so, so much for this wonderful fic.

I'm sorry it's taken me a few days to comment. I saw when this originally went up, but I wanted to wait until the weekend so that I could savor the experience of reading it, and I'm glad that I did because this fic definitely deserves to be savored. I feel like I told you this when I commented on your RS Games fic, but you really have an incredibly cinematic writing style. It's not just how clear and well your imagery comes through, it's how the structure of your fic makes it so the reader absolutely needs to keep reading, like you're hooked into the story. I thought that the bit where Remus and Sirius go on a run together was especially evocative, and probably one of my favorite bits of the fic.

IMO, Marauder's Era R/S is the hardest to write well, because teens are harder to write than adults, so I also have to say how much I love how you nailed being a teenager here. I thought this paragraph was especially great: Remus covered his eyes with the heels of his palms, in case he wanted to cry. He should have known better than this. He didn’t cry anymore. Neither did he move, though, perfectly still in case he disturbed his the solace his faceless companion was here seeking. It felt cheap, almost, to profit so wholly off someone else’s sadness, but the miserable music made Remus feel more content than he had in some time. For as long as he could stay awake, Remus listened to this boy playing his sad songs, and after that he fell asleep, there on the rough carpeted floor of the music rooms.

I feel like if I tried to pick out my favorite piece of dialogue I'd end up quoting the whole thing back to you. Ahhh, and the two of them playing music together! Of course I love that, haha. I really love how you did it here, with neither of them knowing who they were playing with. That was really, really lovely. (And how the hell did you know I'm a sucker for mistaken identities? Remus not realizing it was Sirius is so far up my street it's crazy.)

And the Tweets are amazing, because of course they are. (James's handle!)

Now, would you like to hear a funny story from me? At the time when I was writing out my prompts for this, I had just read YOUR fic. And it made me realize how much I loved modern AU's and how I needed more of them in my life. The bit about me wanting social media? Was written with explicitly your fic in mind. So I'm sure you can imagine just how touched and excited I was when I read your note. I think this may have all been meant to be, or else there's a little holiday serendipity in the air. Either way, I want to thank you again for this incredible fic, because it's absolutely perfect, and far above and beyond what I hoped for.
