Announcing the 2019-2020 small gifts bonus round!

Early next week--from Monday, December 23, to Thursday, December 26--we're going to take a break to honor the various holidays, give you a chance to catch up on reading, and encourage you to start writing for the...

...2019-2020 BONUS ROUND!

Want to create one more thing this year? Want to say "happy new year!" to someone? Feeling inspired?
Every year at small gifts, we wrap up with a quick BONUS ROUND. Create something, submit to the queue, and ONE WEEK FROM TODAY, on Friday, December 27, we'll start posting bonus extras for the last few days of 2019.

The fine print:

* You can nab ANY of the prompts from this year's sign up post, OR you can remix something you enjoyed during this year's exchange (touch base with the original author or artist to ask permission!), OR you can create something of your own.

* Gifts can be any length (drabbles welcome!) They can be offered to an individual or to the community. No beta necessary.

* You don't need to be a participant in this year's fest to join in the bonus round! Everyone is welcome.

Notes: Written for [personal profile] blanketed_in_stars’ request: for something inspired by “Lonely Man of Winter” by Sufjan Stevens (the Doveman mix, featuring Melissa Mary Ahern).

Thank you to [personal profile] liseuse for betareading!

(BTW, [personal profile] blanketed_in_stars, I wrote this way back in the beginning: when I was first looking for something to treat in Small Gifts, your Sufjan Stevens prompt was the one that jumped out at me. (Because Sufjan, and because this song in particular seemed to fit so intensely and beautifully for Remus.) I didn’t realize until weeks later, after posting was well under way, that your official gift creator would be using the same prompt. I apologize for that! If anything, please take it as a compliment to how good the prompt was, that it so thoroughly seized not one but two imaginations.)
