I just read this last night from around 1AM, which made me late for work the next day, but IT WAS DAMN HELL WORTH IT. I loved the very first line, because who hasn't thought about that at one point or another? Sirius's and Remus's reasons for wanting to be other people are heartbreaking, especially since they are so young and are more or less helpless against the circumstances regarding their lives. But that doesn't mean it was all a vale of tears either. In fact, I loved how you balanced the whole, the emotions and the funnies, the very boyish silly exchanges between the three friends (James is brilliant, even if he appears only in a letter) just makes it all so precious.

I likewise loved the way you portrayed Sirius here, and how Remus looks at him. I sort of have talked to many people who wonder what Remus would see in such an arrogant berk, and you just explained it all in a few sentences! Sirius's complexity, the facade that he has to keep up, the somewhat protective and thoughtful friend he is when he has a mind to be... it was all there. I really love it when a writer handles Sirius so well, you can feel how he is loved in that description.

Ergh, I was actually writing bits of my RS BigBang fic while reading this, and you just made me so jealous! I want to write something like this!
