I like that it really showed that, at least on one level, Sirius was doing this for Remus (maybe even so that he could teach), rather than just making a universal point.

Yay, I'm glad you picked up on that - it didn't quite fit with the story to explore that further, but it was definitely on my mind as I wrote.
