This is lovely, thank you! My day has officially been made.

I have a huuuge soft spot for a Remus with self-inflicted misery, fortunately or unfortunately, so of course I loved him in this. It just seems so him to go off and busy himself with Important Order Business without realizing that his friends are worrying themselves sick over his long absences. But I'm very glad that they know about Remus going off to try and bring the werewolves over to the Order's cause, since one of the most messed-up, heartbreaking things about canon was the fact that no one knew. So thank you for that.

I like how ambiguous the relationship between Remus and Sirius is. There's a blockade there, caused by one or both of them. Loved Lily's "still?" although I'm not sure that she sees that the involvement is also romantic, or at least sexual, in nature. It seems like that's something even Remus and Sirius themselves aren't completely aware of. Ah, the ambiguity! I love it~

And the atmosphere of this! This is the kind of First War that's closest to my vision of it: dark, heavy, close, with only that small pocket of warmth and hope left around the Potters' house. Remus in his grey, undecorated flat broke my heart into little pieces (in a good way!), but so did the quiet, stiff-upper-lip Remus peeling potatoes at the counter. It's a bit difficult to explain my reaction to this story, actually. It killed me but I loved it at the same time!

Thank you so much for this, [livejournal.com profile] sea_shtick! I'm very happy. :) ♥
